Tree Harvesting

Tree Harvesting Tool

  • This is a multi-puirpose all-in-one device that can be switched between various methods of harvesting

Barrel Tap & Empty Jars

  • Having a Barrel Tap and a supply of empty jars is required for when you decide to convert them later in the resources for crafting

Process

  • Single-click the Tree Harvesting Tool to access the 'Resources' gump

  • Each tool selection comes with a guidebook/information, and this guidebook will allow you to investigate any tree in the world to discover what resources it might give you that would be useful
  • For example; You may not know by looking at the below tree what it produces but when you 'Investigate Tree' using the Harvesting Tool gump in your built-in guidebook, it will advise you.

  • On the Tree Harvesting Tool Guidebook, select the same tree you have discovered and would like to harvest (this will ensure you're using the correct tool)
  • Please note: some trees have several resources available. If this is the case, you could use several tools on the trees to collect different resources

  • Some trees require additional items to help obtain the resources.
  • Example; Coconut palm. This contains palm tree sap, which can be useful for crafting. To gather it, you will use the Tree Harvesting Tool's 'Sapping Tool' to extract the sap. In addition to this, the 'Barrel Tap' (which punctures the tough skin and provides the mechanism for the sap to drain out of the tree) and an empty jar (to hold the sap) are required

  • If you have all the collect items, on successful harvest, you will get the following message and will consume your empty bottle to give you sap

  • Here is a list of all of the resource you can harvest from trees and the products that can be made from either grinding or cooking the resource. These products are used in various crafting items, including Construction Skills and housing recipes
